Candidate Statement:

I have served as the AANR Trustee for Group 3 for the past 2 years.  I feel it is important for the Rocky Mountains region to have representation on the AANR Board.  I bring a perspective that is different from those living on either the east or west coast and want to continue sharing my thoughts with others on the board.  I am very much in favor of maintaining a family persona to AANR and will strive to support that point of view.  Please cast your vote for me for Club Trustee from Group 3.

You made the statement that you had a different perspective from clubs in the east and west, what is that perspective and how does it differ from the other regions that you mentioned

You want to be a Club Trustee whose expenses are funded by member dues vs. funds from the clubs that you represent. Do you feel that clubs should have reoccurring dues just as members do vs. a one time fee for clubs? If no, why not? If yes, what will you do to make that change?

  2. Kathy Watzel says:

Hi Audrey, I belong to Mountain Air Ranch in the foothills near Denver. We don’t have a large body of water, nor a beach. I am invested in maintaining a healthy nudest environment in all areas of the country and to maintain a healthy and safe family environment.

No, I don’t believe clubs should pay a reoccurring fee. I am not a club owner, but have served as a board member for my club for many years. Many of our AANR clubs are struggling to keep members. I believe if clubs were charged an annual fee it would keep them from being an AANR club. Most clubs offer AANR members discounts when they do frequent there clubs. I know when I travel I look for AANR clubs. I also know if a club is an AANR club I am in a safe family environment.

I appreciate your response, some of the other questions I asked of others running for office have not yet been answered. BUT – Since AANR is also struggling to keep members which pay for all the marketing, advocacy and education missions I still don’t understand why a members burden to support AANR should be more than a club’s burden.
