In 2007 when I drove east my first stop was Shangri La in Arizona. I really like this place. After checking in and walking the dogs I walked to the pool. There were about a dozen people in the pool so I joined them. The water seemed cold to me so I swam over to where the pool thermometer was to see what the temperature was. It read 86 degrees! Then I saw that the air temp. was 114! Sure is nice to be able to get into a nice cool pool! The next day I drove to Wildwood in Texas, I told them I had read about them in N magazine. They said the article was about Bluebonnet. I stayed at Wildwood and went to Bluebonnet when I left. Both places were nice, friendly.
After leaving Texas, my next stop was in Oaklake Trails in Oklahoma. I like Oaklake trails. The people are friendly and the grounds are nice.
From Oaklake Trails I drove to Memphis to Wal-Mart to spend the night. The next day I drove to Murfreesboro, Tenn to Rock Haven Lodge. It was my first visit there. It's a nice, friendly place. They have a model car race track and a model railroad that is big enough for kids to ride. I then drove to Crossville,Tenn. To Cherokee Lodge. Cherokee Lodge is one of my favorites. I have visited it before.
I than drove to Carolina Foothills Resort in SC. Foothills is a small resort, very friendly and pleasant to visit. After my visit I drove to my niece's in Rock Hill. SC. Had a nice visit with her and her family. I stopped at Bar-S- Ranch in NC and White Tail Resort in Va. White Tail is a great resort, especially if you are there for the beach party! From there I drove north to my family gathering in Maryland. I stopped at Maryland Health Society for a day and than I spent a day at Pine Tree Associates before going to the KOA for my visit with my family.
On the way home I stopped at Sunshower Country Club in Centerville, Indiana. From there I drove home on I-80. No nudist resorts along I-8.

On my trip east to visit my family I drove down to Las Vegas to go east on I-40. I have found that the nudist resorts along I-40 are spaced about two days drive at my pace. I stop at Wal-Mart or Sam's Clubs between my stops at nudist resorts. My first stop is usually Shangri La in Arizona. I like Shangri La. They have two pools and the folks are friendly.
From Shangri La I usually stop overnight at the Wal-Mart on the east side of Albuquerque, NM. My next stop is Oklahoma City Wal-Mart. From there I stop a OaklakeTrails in OK. From Oaklake Trails I drive to Memphis Tenn, overnighting at Wal-Mart again. The next day I drive the Cherokee Lodge in Crossville. The next stop is Carolina Foothills. From there I drive to My niece's home in Rock Hill, SC. From there I drive to Bar-S-Ranch. I drive to Pine Tree before I go to the KOA near my niece's home for my family gathering.
This year I visited Paradise Gardens near Cincinnati, Ohio. This is a nice resort, but the RV spot I was assigned left a little bit to be desired. The Electrical was faulty. My next stop was Sunshower Country Club in Indiana. From there I drove home on I-80.

Trial By Fire.......
July 4th weekend and we needed to find an RV park near OK City as a stop on our cross country trip to Canada. All places were full except Oaklake Trails, and after reading more about it and seeing the video, we knew this was the place for us. We have always been nudists in our home but this was a great way to commune with others and practice our beliefs.
What a fantastic park and incredible members! We felt so comfortable we came back on the turn around and now keep in touch with the great friends we made. We quickly joined AANR and will always keep up our membership to help promote a social and political change in attitude toward nudity in our society.
So, I guess we were led to this wonderful park for a reason. We hope the more we travel, the more we can meet other members and get involved in the cause. Thank you to everyone we met, especially our delightful hosts.

Nude Hike
While living in California I was an avid hiker, hiking mostly in the Ventana Wilderness area of the Los Padres National Forest (aka Big Sur). Skinny-dipping in the various creeks and rivers while hiking was something I always enjoyed with friends and it happened on almost every hike. In 2001 I heard about a nudist group in the San Francisco Bay area that actually hosted an annual Naked Hike-a river hike down the Arroyo Seco River on the eastern side of the wilderness. Since this area is a National Forest, nudity was allowed (thus the skinny-dipping, which just about any hiker did) but I had never even imagined going on a totally nude, multiple day hike. The hike was held annually on the first new moon of July and I eagerly joined the group for the 2001 hike. Years before there had been as many as 15 participants (that was the maximum the group allowed), but by the time I went the numbers had dwindled and there were only four of us who did the three-day, two-night hike in 2001. I was planning to go on the next year's hike but when I contacted the organizer I found out that because of lack of participants this particular group was no longer going to host the hike. I still had the email addresses of a couple of people who went on the 2003 hike, so I emailed them to see if they wanted to do the hike again even though the group no longer did it. They said definitely, so I became the "leader" and rounded up four other participants and we ended up with a group of seven for the 2004 hike. I lead the hike for the next two years with five participants one year and four the next. Because of a knee injury I could not go on the hike for the next two years, but one of the other participants took over as leader. I lost my job in CA, and subsequently moved to Michigan, but from what I hear the hike was held at least up until last year. It may still be going on and I did find information on the hike (lots of photos, too) by Googling "Arroyo Seco River Hike." I would like to try and make the hike again next year if it is still going on.

Paradise Gardens 2011
Over the last 3-4 years I have driven two hours from Kentucky to visit Paradise Gardens in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a nice setting north of Cincy and the closest club to me. Because of the distance I did not visit often.
Until last year I always enjoyed the visits but last year there were some issues with their customer service. I happily report that that has been resolved. The new management of the club has made visiting a joy again ... even better than before. They are welcoming visitors with extraordinary customer service.
The club was always clean and nice but it seems they have added an extra measure of polish this year. If you have never been there, and you like to swim, the glass enclosed pool is crystal clear and squeaky clean. They have a solar heater and the water temperature was in the 80+ degree range. Very nice for this early in the season (early June).
The rest of the facility is well maintained and very pleasing. They have taken what was very good in the previous years and made it extraordinary.
The grounds are very nice and I usually take a walk on some of the trails and roads through the woods. I can get a little exercise and feel the cool breeze on the hill where the club is built. I met two long term club members with permanent camp sites on my last visit as I walked around the club. They invited me down to the deck by the lake. We chatted for quite a while. They were quite engaging and friendly. But that has been my experience with "real" nudists over the years.
They have a massage therapist available (by advance appointment) and you can get your massage in the gazebo by the lake. If you enjoy massage envision it by the lake in the shade of the gazebo.
Because of the problems last year I thought that I might have to find a new place to visit. After two visits in the last couple of weeks I am looking forward to more visits this summer than ever before.
Check it out ... you will find it one of the nicest clubs anywhere. It is a hidden gem only a few miles north of Cincinnati. You can get more details on their Website www.NudeLife.com .
Highly recommended.
