Molson Touts Nude Slogans

Molson has just launched a new ad campaign that's guaranteed to get people talking. The campaign centers around repackaging the Canadian beers with "twin labels," one that features the company's logo, the other displaying one of 84 conversation-provoking messages. The tagline that is being promoted through print and television ads suggests the twin labels allow Molson drinkers to "let your Molson do the talking."

What makes the campaign even better is that Molson has decided to incorporate some messages dear to the hearts of nudists everywhere. Label #117 states "As Me About My All Over Tan." Another label (#226) says "Clothing Optional." And don't forget "Skinny Dippers are People Too" (#44).

Early evidence suggests the campaign is paying off. Distributors in the Northwest report collecting fewer empty bottles than they sell due to patrons taking bottles with their favorite slogans home with them. As USA Today stated in a recent column "Christian de Neuvillette had his Cyrano de Bergerac, and now thousands of tongue-tied barflies will have Molson Canadian beer labels to help them captivate the object(s) of their desire."

See all the labels at Twin Labels.

Museum Visitors Bare All

Vienna's Leopold Museum has invited the public to view an exhibition of works by Austrian masters like Gustav Klimt in the nude. A spokesperson for the museum, Verena Dahlitz, said that patrons might "find this an attractive proposition" since people prefer to go to the beach rather than visit museums this time of year because they can take their clothes off.

The exhibition, titled "The Naked Truth," showcases nude portraits by Austrian artists that scandalized the country at the turn of the century due to their nudity. Dahlitz says the exhibition has already drawn 70,000 visitors and the museum was not trying to make money but merely "wanted to do something that nobody has dared yet."

It's Superbowl Time at White Thorn Lodge

Good morning, volleyball lovers. That's what visitors to White Thorn Lodge will hear at 7 a.m. announcing the first day of games at the XXXV Volleyball Superbowl. Always held the week after Labor Day, the event attracts as many as 2,000 nude volleyball enthusiasts. For the first 33 years, it was a Thursday through Sunday event, but in 2004 the Superbowl expanded to an all-week nude volleyball lover's dream come true.

Nudist volleyball has a large following of regular participants who travel to events throughout the country. Several AANR-affiliated clubs have joined together with White Thorn to create what has become the nudist volleyball tour which starts with Lake Como Family Nudist Resort (Florida) in March and includes Ponderosa Nature Resort (Ontario) in June, Sunny Glades (Ontario) in July, and Four Seasons (Ontario) in August.

This year the tournament will be played on 11 courts (two sand, four blacktop, and five grass). Professional referees are employed for the event that includes all play levels from AA to Novice.

This year's Volleyball Superbowl will be held September 5-11 and will be totally managed by volunteer club members. For information, call 724/846-5984 or write 383 State Line Road, Darlington, PA 16115-9635. For a complete schedule and tournament flyer that includes directions to the event, visit Volleyball Superbowl.

Naked Charity

Love them or loathe them, nude charity calendars are here to stay. First inspired by the movie Calendar Girls, about a group of middle-aged women who pose for a calendar to raise money to pay for a friend's husband's medical bills, the calendars were suddenly everywhere. Supporters say the calendars are an eye-catching way to raise money for worthy causes. Detractors feel that the calendars depict nudity as shameful since certain body parts are always covered or hidden behind an object such as flowers or a beach ball.

Now there is a Web site devoted to news about nude calendars called Naked Charity. Information about the various calendars that are available and the causes they support, as well as bloggers' comments and responses from visitors to the site can be found at Naked Charity.
