The Orlando Sentinel plugs AANR, Cypress Cove

The Sunday, November 27th edition of the largest newspaper serving the Orlando, Florida area carried a warm story celebrating AANR's 70th Anniversary and the success of Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee. The story included interviews with people who enjoy nude recreation from all walks of life, from families to college students and retirees. The reporter also interviewed the Hadley family, proprietors of the Cove. To review an online copy, visit The Orlando Sentinel.

Holiday Wishes From AANR!

In the spirit of the season, the AANR office has adopted two needy families, providing them with Christmas gifts and daily necessities. This project is in addition to the local food drive the office has contributed to for several years. As you know, many local charities are suffering at this time. AANR encourages everyone to make a difference in their community this Holiday season and throughout the upcoming year. Get involved, give of yourself, and enjoy the rewards of giving.

If you'd like to purchase an AANR Commemorative Holiday Ornament like the one pictured here, you can do so by going to the main page at aanr.com and select "shopping." You'll find the ornament in our online catalog.

Our best to you during this joyous season.

The Land Down Under

TRINITY BEACH, Australia--The Australia province of Queensland has some of the world's most beautiful beaches, the Great Barrier Reef, a rain forest full of waterfalls, and a climate similar to that of Miami.

Unfortunately, little of it can be enjoyed in the nude. Queensland is the only Australian province without an official, legalized nude beach. Not only that, but it has few nudist resorts.

Paul and Wendy Greenfield hope to change that. As the managers of the Amaroo Beach Resort (www. Amarooresort.com), they've created an upscale facility that, while technically not a nudist resort, is nudist-friendly.

The resort's pool area is topless, and there's a partitioned nude sunbathing area overlooking the tennis courts. The spa must be used nude, and it's okay if guests wish to skinny-dip after dark. Since each of the 38 studio hotel rooms overlooks the Pacific Ocean, with little activity on the beach below, there's no problem with guests going nude on their balconies.

The Greenfields have found that the resort's not-quite-nude status has not discouraged nudists from visiting while it's helped some non-nudists ease into the lifestyle. Those that might be offended by nudity are not exposed to it.

"It gives everyone the opportunity to explore nudism at their own pace or not at all," Paul Greenfield says.

Guests rave about the upscale facility, with visitors coming from the U.S., Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The guest book is full of comments from members impressed with the tropical setting, modern amenities, and especially the Greenfields' personalized service.

Seen on eBay...

SONY once marketed TV's with a magazine advertisement featuring nudists as this copy from a 1968 magazine shows. We found this gem from the past recently available for sale on the eBay auction site.

It's difficult to make out the text from this image, but the advertisement appears to be touting the fact that the TV these folks are watching is small enough to go anywhere and can still be seen in bright light. We'd agree that one of the great things about nude recreation is that you can pack less and relax more.

Of course, there's lots more to do at an AANR club besides watching TV. From tennis courts, to swimming pools and hot tubs. From volleyball, to petanque, to horeshoes and building sand castles with your family, your sure to find something for everyone at AANR's 240 clubs and resorts throughout the US and Canada.
