Even European visitors accustomed to nudity in urban settings marvel at Miami's Haulover Beach, one of the greatest success stories in North American nudism.

Having grown up in South America and Europe, my approach to nudity and nudism was a tad more liberal. However, I "wanted to keep my tan lines", I thought they were sexy.
After my 1st trip to Haulover in 2000, I went to Jamaica to a Clothing Optional resort and never looked back.
Why would anyone encumber itself with wet, itchy, sticky, tight clothes?
There is nothing like the liberating feeling of presenting all of your skin to the sun, the ocean breeze and the waves.
Also, Haulover is quite the mishmash of people: gays, straights, white, less white, exhibitionists, voyeurs and we all enjoy a preciously guarded inclusive environment.
Parking is easy, bring your umbrella and stuff or rent. The walk to the beach is short with easy access to showers and bathrooms. There is even a food truck in case you didn't think you would be there for so long and didn't pack munchies or suntan lotion.
I invite all to visit and leave only foot prints on the sand along with their inhibitions.

4/20/2016 While on a vacation my wife and I decided we were going to visit Haulover park and experience a nude beach for the first time, we are both in our late 50's and try to stay fit. We arrived there early, removed our cloths and as more and more people arrived we felt totally comfortable. Although there seemed to be more men than woman, there were many couples of all shapes and sizes and everyone was very respectful of one another except for a couple of clothed gawkers and the occasional wandering dirty old man that we both just chuckled at. We enjoyed our visit so much we returned the next day and wondered why we waited so long to experience swimming, sunning and just the feeling of being naked in public with others with no one passing judgement. We will be back! Note, buy real good sunscreen and apply often especially after swimming! Just speaking from experience.......ouch!

I made my first 2 visits to Haulover on Sunday April 19 and my 2nd visit on April 20, 2015.
My trip to Florida was a last minute thing this year and my lady friend accompanied me. I was not planning on making the visit since she is not into this and I did not want to abandon her.
However, Sunday, she was not feeling that great and advised me, "Why don't you go to the beach by yourself?" We were staying in Deerfield Beach so I knew I was not that far away and my GPS brought it up.
Needless to say, there was great anticipation on the drive over. I got to the p/lot at around 11:30am. Huge line at the first entrance(where the boats pull in). I parked at the 2nd entrance for the north lot and took tunnel 2 under A1A. I looked on the beach and I saw people that were clothed and I had no idea where the clothing opt section was and thought I would have to walk a long distance.
A lifeguard pointed me in the right direction and it was I think a 100/200 yard walk to the dividing fence.

My wife and I happened to be in Ft Lauderdale for a work convention in March of 2012. So I did some web research and we decided to drive Down and spend a Saturday at Haulover.
We parked and found the tunnel under the road. Nice walkways and paths. Clean restrooms. We walked out on the beach and found very few people. Some older naturists with privacy tents. There were a few Portuguese man-of-war on the beach so I told a lifeguard.
We lay there for a while till I got enough confidence to strip naked. I could not convince my wife to yet. We took a walk and came back. At lunch a food cart arrives so that was interesting. We stayed until 2pm feeling a bit pink, so we got dressed and headed out.
It was fun and we have a vacation trip planned to go back in August. I might even look to buy a condo nearby. Cant wait to get back to Haulover!

My wife asked me what I wanted to do for my 59th birthday. I told her I wanted to feel the ocean air on my body, to walk along the beach or jump into the surf completely unencumbered. She laughed and said, "really?" So we researched it and I felt really good about going to Haulover Beach.
My experience was all that I expected. The people I met were nice, friendly and respectful of my privacy and I theirs. The couple next to me overheard my phone conversation from a sibling wishing me a happy birthday and the word spread around us. I had several people wishing me a happy birthday.
It's funny how honest and open a conversation feels when you are completely naked.
The beach was clean and the water was beautiful. At 8:00 am in the morning the water was like glass and I could see clearly the bottom as I swam out to the sand bar, when I arrived, I was greeted from others who had done the same. It was a beautiful thing.
I loved my experience at Haulover and will go back again.

My partner and I have stayed at many clothing optional resorts in FT. Lauderdale and recently went to Haulover for our first nude beach experience. We just loved it and went four days in a row. It was so wonderful to see gays, straights and families etc... We love this beach and plan to attend as often as we can when in Florida.

Went to Haulover beach on November 3rd, 2013 to see if we could break the record of the most skinny-dippers at one time. Had a great time and I heard we did break the record. All the people are great here and it was a real pleasure to be with and around them. The water is beautiful blue/green unlike the gulf. Looking forward to going back soon.

Just remembered something I think should be adopted in regard to visitors to,frankly, any beach, but especially Haulover Beach. We go to beaches to relax, enjoy the fresh air and ocean breeze, yet we allow smokers to pollute the air, and leave their cig and cigar butts on the beach. Whether you agree or not, it's air pollution, and the end result is that they toss their butts on the beach which is littering. Nothing worse than seeing all this discarded trash on the beach. I vote for a no smoking rule when at this beach or any beach as far as I am concerned; it's a disgusting habit and they are careless when discarding their trash. It does not belong there!

I went there for the first time, and found it to be a lovely no-clothes experience. Nice people mind their own business, and plenty of diversity. I went three times and enjoyed more each time; it was refreshing and a great experience amongst mature adults, some from all aspects of age and gender. I would go there again if possible and glad it exists.
Bringing your own chairs is less expensive. The water is splendid as well--a good nude day for all!

This is the first nude beach I ever went to and was not disappointed. All kinds and types of people go hear which made me very comfortable. There is an imaginary seperation of gays and straights/family but is not iron clad. There is a stand where you can buy beverages and snacks. The beach chairs cost $10 and with the umbrella it's $2 more. 99% of the people there had very good nude beach etiquette but there will always be that 1% that are there for the wrong reasons. Tune them out and you will have an awesome time here especially due to the diversity. Please don't visit Miami without visiting Haulover. It's probably the most frequented nude beach in the U.S.
