One of the most exhilarating experiences for any nudist is being nude in nature. There is nothing quite like feeling the sun warm your skin, the gentle touch of the breeze, or the unmatched sensation of gliding through a pool, lake, or ocean free from the restrictions of swimsuits.

Unfortunately, many people don’t have regular opportunities to enjoy this experience. Lack of private outdoor space, apartment living, or weather limitations can make it difficult to fully embrace naturism in natural settings.

This is where the growing movement of non-landed clubs is making a difference. A “non-landed” club is a nudist group without a physical brick-and-mortar resort. During my campaign, I spoke about how the grassroots creation of these groups would become the future of social nudity, offering nudists opportunities to gather, socialize, and enjoy body positivity outside of a structured resort setting. These groups fill a gap due to a lack of resorts in their area, geographical distance to one, or wanting to have more of a “neighborhood feel” to their experience.

Many of these groups are thriving and growing in membership. Successful examples include the Southern California Naturist Association (SCNA) and the Rocky Mountain Naturist Club in Colorado. These organizations host a variety of nude events, such as yoga sessions, bowling nights, paint parties, movie screenings, swims, potlucks, and even trips to established naturist resorts like Playa Sonrisa in Mexico, Shangri-La Ranch in Arizona, and Glen Eden in California.
As interest grows, many people have reached out to AANR asking how to start a non-landed club of their own. In response, a dedicated committee with special recognition to Jeff Jackson, Kane Stanton, and John Puchelt developed a “how-to” manual, now available to AANR members on the AANR.com website. This resource is designed to guide and inspire those interested in forming their own groups that offer an option for social nudity, friendship, and a greater sense of community, to develop.

Non-landed clubs are creating new, flexible opportunities for nudists everywhere, ensuring that the joy of nudism remains accessible to those who are looking for socially nude options. If you don’t currently have one in your area and like the idea, consider the possibility of getting a few nudist friends together and forming your own group.
