Nude Beginnings: Welcoming a Year of Possibility
The passage of time should be interspersed with remembrances of good times spent with friends, family, and new experiences, preferably while enjoying the freedom of nudity.
Last year, I started the New Year out with a “Nudist Bucket List” of activities as inspiration for events you could strive to complete. I was able to check off more than half, but there are a lot of exciting things to discover for 2026 and beyond. How many of the suggestions were you able to check off? Let us know.
The New Year will bring more opportunities to enjoy the nude philosophy, but will also be a continuation of legislation that looks to threaten our nude privileges. People fear what they do not understand, and rather than making an effort to get educated on a differing point of view, some feel legislation is the answer, especially anything relating to nudity.
The good news is, within the nudist community, we have seen a burgeoning of grassroots clubs forming, which bring people together to enjoy nude recreation outside of a traditional resort setting. These clubs fill a need where people just want to get together and enjoy nudity with like-minded individuals. What this reveals is a longing to be social with fellow nudists and the willingness to put forth the effort to organize and form a club.
The New Year provides us with the opportunity to look ahead and outline what we would like to accomplish. Our organization runs on the dedication and willingness of volunteers to step up and be a part of the change that is needed. If you want to have a hand in guiding and shaping the future of the organization, consider applying for one of the many positions that will be open in 2026. This includes the AANR Board, Trustees, and within the Regions, Regional Officers and Directors. Your participation and voice truly make a difference.
As we bid a fond farewell to 2025 and embrace 2026 and all that the New Year holds for us, I want to thank each and every one of you. The nudist philosophy brings so much to the table – camaraderie, body positivity, the ability to live authentically, and a community that can be found worldwide. Let’s not keep this to ourselves! My challenge to the members this year is to share what nudism has done for you. By telling your story, you may encourage someone else to give nudism a try.
My pledge as the President of AANR is to continue working to improve, strengthen, and advance our organization. With the support of dedicated Leadership volunteers who understand we need to change in order to progress, I am confident that we will achieve our goals. Happy New Year!
