Hi Travelers,

The American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) is asking all who enjoy nude recreation to write to the Federal Aviation Administration and voice concerns with proposals to close portions of the Canaveral National Seashore, Florida, up to 60 days per year—and possibly more in the future.

Closures would take place during SpaceX launches and landings. This would impact the clothing-optional area at Playalinda Beach in Brevard County, FL (parking lot #13). Apollo Beach in Volusia County, FL may be affected too, as clothed beachgoers, who are dealing with closures, may likely migrate north, prompting user conflict.

The FAA and the National Park Service need meaningful plans to address these issues, as well as the impact on local wildlife, tourism, and damage.

Re: FAA-2024-1395  VIA REGULATIONS.GOV PORTAL

Dear Sir or Madam:

I have read the American Association for Nude Recreation communication regarding SpaceX expansion and share concerns related to:

  • Increased beach closures associated with more takeoffs and landings.
  • Travel delays of up to two hours due to takeoffs and landings are incorrectly classified as “insignificant.”
  • The need for SpaceX to establish and maintain a program of reimbursement of damages occurred as related to takeoffs and landings.
  • The need for SpaceX to support and maintain programs that are support the environment and ecosystems of beaches that have legally designated clothes-free areas.

Please help to keep our clothing-optional beaches along the National Seashore open for locals and visitors to enjoy year round.

Sincerely,

Naturally yours.
