Let’s Get Social
Nudist resorts are always fun to visit and provide a variety of amenities and activities. But what if you are not in geographical range to a resort but would still like to enjoy nude recreation with others?
The answer? Social clubs. These are grass-roots gatherings of people who want to enjoy the social aspect of nudity with like-minded folks. They are clubs set up by individuals that offer diverse activities such as themed nude bowling, Holi paint runs, chili cook-offs, hiking, and more. These social clubs bridge the gap when there aren’t many options without taking away from the resorts. Many groups plan visits to resorts and support each other. The notable difference is that these groups can be started anywhere and usually do not have a set destination, such as a resort. With the current societal and legislative sentiment against wholesome, non-sexual nudity, it is doubtful we will see a brick-and-mortar resort created anytime soon, so these social clubs are more important than ever as a viable option for nude recreation.
Because there was so much interest in starting a club in their area, a “Starting a Social Nudist Club” Manual was produced. It is available on the AANR.com website under “Documents” in the Member section. The Manual walks you through how to formulate your own Social club. An additional resource is also being developed that will offer training for this endeavor.
The ability to enjoy nude recreation at a club or at home is a privilege that we must never take for granted. People often fear what they don’t know, and simple nudity seems to elicit a strong response either for or against. We are currently in the “against” cycle of nudity. With that in mind, please take a moment to support our Government Affairs Team – GAT – with a donation. Legislatively, we are seeing an uptick in bills that, if passed, could severely curtail our ability to recreate nude, and often one negative bill, if approved, will template to other states.
We currently have two promotions for the GAT program:
For every $5 donated to the GAT Challenge, a ticket will be issued and a winner drawn for a generous one-week stay at Shangri-La Resort near Phoenix, Arizona. The drawing will be held in November 2026, so you have plenty of time to donate.
“Turn Your Small Change into Real Change” Fundraiser for our GAT Program. Donate those pocket pennies in the USA and nifty nickels in Canada for GAT. This is a fun way to capitalize on the USA’s decision to discontinue the minting of the penny. Canada already dispatched the penny, so nickels are its smallest coin. Please consider joining this fun promotion by dropping your change in a marked collection jar at your local club, regional meeting, or Regional Convention. Let’s put that small change to work in a big way – every donation helps!

We just sent you an invitation to Naturist Hub. AANR’s social media hub.
I’ve been a naturist for 40 years. I’m in a community outside of Athens GA. I’d like to find fellow naturists to communicate with.
