Hi Travelers,
I’m sure you’re well aware that Annapolis, Maryland is home to our nation’s Naval Academy. But you’re likely not aware that Annapolis is also home to one of our nation’s oldest operating family nudist clubs, Pine Tree Associates, which is a co-op nudist club/resort founded in 1934, owned and managed by its members.
Nestled in a tranquil ninety-six acre setting just minutes from downtown Annapolis, and a short drive to Baltimore or Washington, D.C., Pine Tree thrives in a relatively rural setting and is adjacent to the Bacon Ridge Natural Area, a passive recreation park of 1,000 acres in Anne Arundel County, MD.
Unlike many northern American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) clubs, Pine Tree is open 365 days a year. In addition to a large outdoor pool, there is an indoor pool that’s open generally from Labor Day
through Memorial Day. The indoor pool is located in Keyes Hall, named for the founding family. Keyes Hall is also the location of the club’s sauna, hot tub, exercise and game room.
Accommodations at Pine Tree include rental cabins, rental trailers, RV sites, and tent campsites. The Pine Tree campground is a loop road, with sites on the inside and outside of the loop. The campground bathhouse or “Adam and Eve” is located in the center, making it easily accessible from every campsite. There are approximately 150 lots with trailers and cabins located within the club and available to lease by full members.
Besides the many planned activities at Pine Tree, it’s just a 30-minute drive to Baltimore, home to the Inner Harbor shops, restaurants, museums, and historic ships; the National Aquarium; Maryland Science Center; and Oriole Park at Camden Yards (the Baltimore Oriole’s home turf). Just a 45-minute drive west is Washington, DC with its Smithsonian museums, national monuments, memorials and landmarks, historic neighborhoods, theatres, embassies and international dining.
To learn more about this clothing-optional resort located at 1801 Hawkins Road, Annapolis, MD 21401; phone: (410) 841-6033; visit www.pinetreeclub.org or www.aanr.com/club-locator/. By simply completing Pine Tree’s schedule-a-visit form they will contact you to arrange for a reservation.
As with most AANR-affiliated clubs, resorts and campgrounds, Pine Tree requires background checks for all new visitors. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. By making a reservation and supplying the Pine Tree office with the requested information (full legal name, date of birth, home address, and driver’s license number), visitors are consenting to a background check of criminal history and sex offender registries. The first visit is half price for first time visitors living in the metropolitan area. If you
live within 100 miles of Pine Tree and are not a member of American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) or any AANR-affiliated club, you will receive a 50% discount. AANR members and those visiting from outside the local area would pay the standard Guest of Membership rates as shown on Pine Tree’s Ground Fees page.
So travelers, clear your calendars and make plans to visit Pine Tree soon!
Naturally,
