CHEERING INSTITUTIONS CELEBRATING 95TH MILESTONE ANNIVERSARIES THIS YEAR
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Sept. 2026) — Not many individuals or institutions reach their 95th year. But those that do are worth celebrating. The following are just a few notable organizations for whom 2026 marks the 95th anniversary, having been established in 1931:
- American Association for Nude Recreation
- Allstate
- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- Associated Press Athlete of the Year
- Berkeley College
- Empire State Building, completed
- George Washington Bridge (NY), dedicated
- Music Library Association
- National Symphony Orchestra
- Nevada legalizes gambling
- S. Open (table tennis)
- Waldorf Astoria (NY)
- Whitney Museum opens
In 1931, Herbert Hoover was president. Anne Bancroft, James Dean, Angie Dickinson, Robert Duvall, David Janssen, James Earl Jones, Dean Jones, Hal Lindon, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Leonard Nimoy, Willie Shoemaker, and Junior Walker were born. And in January of 1931, the American Federation of Labor‘s National Committee for Modification of the Volstead Act was formed to work for the repeal of Prohibition in the United States. So, let’s raise a glass to those who have enriched our lives for nearly a century.
This bit of nostalgia has been brought to you by the American Association for Nude Recreation, which for 95 years has been the preeminent authority and voice in North America, staunchly protecting the freedoms and rights of those who participate in wholesome, family-style nude recreation.
