Nudist Pride

For 90 years the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) has been the preeminent authority and voice in North America, staunchly protecting the freedoms and rights of those who participate in wholesome, family-style nude recreation. However, inclusion in society remains elusive, even as the times dictate Americans staunchly support diversity and inclusion.

As the public and press become sensitized to, and accepting of, the differences between members of our society based on race, gender, sexual orientation and more, why still the ill-informed sniggering when the subject of nude recreation, nude hikes, nude gardening, nude camping and other wholesome pursuits in the buff surface regarding the naturist lifestyle?

AANR staff, elected appointees and their Government Affairs Team monitor and regularly visit state lawmakers advocating on behalf of nudist rights in advance of legislative sessions on bills and annually walk the halls of Congress promoting the positive economic impact of nude recreation on the U.S. tourism economy. They provide solid legal guidance to members and clubs regarding a variety of workplace and community-oriented issues and take action to coordinate responses to threats to nudists’ personal freedoms. And they conduct regular media outreach on the wellness benefits of wholesome nude recreation.

Nudists/naturists are as comfortable in their own skin as are innocent babies, toddlers and others who reject feeling any shame for the form God and their mothers gave them. As summer/skinny-dipping season approaches, acceptance of this personal freedom gains heightened importance. Besides body acceptance and personal freedom, non-sexualized nude recreation and Nakation℠ vacationing achieve added comfort, relaxation, simplicity, respect and stress-reduction. When the clothes are shed, so too are the stresses of everyday life. And, there are added health benefits… It is widely accepted that sunlight counteracts the “blues.” Studies indicate your body needs at least 20 minutes a day of sunshine over at least 75% of your body to help prevent a vitamin D deficiency – of which one notable side effect is depression. Therefore, it follows that those who routinely combine the benefits of a daily nude break to rebalance oneself, with the need for sunlight on the skin, are on a steady course for healthy living.

If you are interested in compelling interviews with AANR members from diverse backgrounds, income brackets and geographic areas who staunchly believe everyone should be free to take personal pride, pleasure and health benefits from wholesome nude recreation, please feel free to contact us as noted below.
